Fabulous pool party at Connie Smith’s home.  Many Salties enjoyed Connie’s hospitality in the pool and in her very user friendly family room and home.  Lots of food and drink was provided by Connie and Sharon, our Cruiser Chairs par excellance.

August 4th, Wednesday (Downtown Club Closed) - Luncheon at PAG since the SPYC will be closed that week. Perhaps we will be able to sail at that location on that date!  If not, we can stroll down to the beach in the morning or after lunch.

August 11thCPR Class will be given by the son of Nancy Kadau.  He is a paramedic.
Previously scheduled August board meeting will be postponed or cancelled, as needed.
The charge for this 4-hour class is $25, which includes certification.  If you wish to audit the class, please also sign-up, so they have an idea of final numbers.  The class has been very popular, so Briny Brothers are asked to sign up, but may only be able to audit this first class.  More classes will be added, if demand is great.

If you have any questions or perhaps you were unable to sign up at the Salty meetings, please e-mail Connie Smith and she will add your name to the list.Social Committee

EDUCATION-BROOKE TALIAFERRO AND NINA GLOVER

ATTENTION!!!  Wednesday, August 25, 2010, there will be a capsize drill in a 420 at the SC.  We will start at 0800 in the classroom with instructions and “chalk talk” about righting  the boat and getting skipper and crew back in the boat.  Then we will go out to the dock and show you a couple of different ways to successfully recover from a capsize.  Then you will be able to hop on the 420 and try it yourselves!
We will be sailing the 420s this fall, probably for a couple series and we want all of you sailing this boat to feel comfortable in knowing you can handle a capsize with confidence, strength and ease.  Remember, the fear of the unknown can be a problem, but you gals won’t have that concern once you’ve tried it!
We will have hand-outs available before August 25th.

SO --- Mark this on your calendars.  WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 25TH AT 0800!
Please contact Brooke Taliaferro or Nina Glover to sign up for this 420 drill!
Looking forward to seeing you then!
