CAPTAIN ─ NANCY SHIVERS
There will be a Board Meeting next week after lunch.
Today we had 3 charities represented:
Music Sweet Music was represented by Ted Wagoner. This charity provides music therapy for children in hospitals, rehabilitation clinics and foster homes. In their South Pasadena clinic they provide small group and individual sessions for children with a broad range of physical, emotional and developmental needs. MSM contracts board certified music therapists to provide small group and individual sessions for the children and also provide the special instruments used in music therapy. More info can be found on their website at Musicsweetmusic.org.
Chamber of Hope was represented by Betsy Fowler. This is an independent charity that provides free of charge hyperbaric oxygen chamber treatment for children with Cerebral Palsy, Autism and other neurological disorders. This treatment is not covered by insurance. More information can be found on their website at Chamberofhope.org.
Pace School for Girls was represented by Sally Zeh and one of her students, Diana. The Pace School for Girls is a place for 11-18 year old girls who have not been prospering in their lives due to abuse, neglect, emotional or social problems. The school’s object is to eliminate the barrier that kept these girls from improving their lives. This is a day treatment program and most of the girls arrive via public transportation. 90% of the students improve their grades. Pace also has a website that you can visit for more information.
GUESTS: Myra McShane brought Betsy Fowler from the Chamber of Hope. Beth brought Joanne Hunter from Chicago. Valerie Massingill brought Sally Zeh and one of her students, Diana, from the Pace School for Girls.

Had a good turn-out today for sailing. The new Saltines turned out today to sail in the prams and Sonars. The series was finished today and results will be given next week. We had 4 Sonars out today and were able to get 2 races in. Next week will be the Candy Cane regatta promising fun for all. We now have 4 Ideals available to sail and if you would like to sail the Ideals you can now sign-up for them. Beginning January 11th we will begin a 3 week series for the Maggie Mug Trophy in the Ideals for the Skippers Hats only. There will be 2 skippers in each boat. Also, there has been interest in holiday sailing on Dec. 21st and 28th. If you have interest in sailing you can sign-up next week and the prams and Ideals will be available for our use.
