FWSA ─ NANCY STRITE
Venice interclub was scheduled for Nov 16th and has been rescheduled for March 21st. The Lucas Cup is this Saturday at PAG. We have Joanne Simmons and Kathy Ahern sailing for the Salty Sisters.
AWARDS ─ KATHY AHERN
Nancy Strite announced awards for the FWSA races. Thursday (10/27) Mainsheet Mamas hosted with no wind and Nancy Strite sailed for SPYC. Broad Reachers hosted Friday (10/28) with Nancy Kadau (1st) and Trisha Billings representing SPYC. Lisa Avila received a charm for FWSA race committee.
EDUCATION ─ MARIDELL WEAVER & GLORIA DAVIS
The new class did not sail today due to the wind conditions. They practiced knots, rigging prams and a chalk talk of right of way rules. All new Saltines stood and identified themselves for the group who cheered for each.
SOCIAL ─SUSAN HUFF
The Thanksgiving feast will start at 11am so you will have time to shop at the Craft Fair that will be held on the same day. Several Salties will be selling their wares at the Craft Fair and will stay after lunch for a short while.

We have 18 ladies going to the Dali tomorrow.

Lots of clothing for sale on the table. New silver SS “slide” for $32.10. Visors and scarfs should be coming in next week. If anyone is interested in a digital watch please let us know as they have to be ordered in a large lot….price under $20. Many Salties requested playing cards with the SS logo and they will be ordering them soon.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
CHAR -NEL DOYLE:
Christmas Botique this year will be held on November 29th from 1pm - 7pm. This year we have 43 vendors signed up and we would like to get it up to 45. Please send in an application if you would like to be a vendor. We are also looking for sponsors. With the money from last years botique we were able to buy a Laser and Pennies (stretch jerseys to wear over their life jackets) for the Junior Sailing Program. We need “helpers” to sell raffle tickets and other tasks that are needed to keep things running smoothly. Raffle rules are changing this year. You must pick-up your raffle item by 6pm or your item will be raffled off again! We will no longer hold raffle items for late pick-up.
TONI & SIGRID: The Nauticats are looking for new singers…especially sopranos. The Nauticats are already practicing their holiday program and they spend their free time singing for retirement facilities and/or nursing homes for the enjoyment of all. The practices are held on Tuesday afternoons from 3pm - 5pm in the ballroom upstairs…after practice the singers hit the 2-4-1 at the downstairs bar.
The Salty Sisters Craft Show and Sale will be on Nov. 16. This will be merchandise made by the Salties and to be purchased by the Salties. It is not open to the entire yacht club.
SIGRID LOVFALD: If anyone has pictures that are not located on Picasa, please send them to her so she can use it/them on Smooth Sailing.
New Calendars (Racing Schedules): See Linda Testa if you need a calendar for 2011-2012.
Paddle Boards: There will also be Stand up Power Board Fitness classes held Tuesdays and Thursdays in October and November. The cost is $15.00. Hand-outs describing these events are on the front table.
