CAPTAIN ─ NANCY SHIVERS
Today was the Thanksgiving “feast” and Nancy opened the luncheon with a prayer.
It was not mentioned last week, but in the November Board Meeting Maridell Weaver will be taking over as a Director to fill in for Carol Hansen and Pat Seidenspinner has graciously agreed to be Protest Chair once again.
GUESTS: Gloria Davis brought her friend Els Weimer who we hope will become a Salty Sister next year. Also attending with Charl Hadfield was Mary Jane Peabody and Betty Hurley of the Broad Reachers.
CO-CAPTAIN ─ SANDY RIPBERGER
We had very, very light wind today and had 3 Sonars go out to work on spinnaker practice. The Mother Ducky races were also finished today. There will be no sailing next week. The week after next, the pram series will continue and finish. If you have missed any of this pram series, please come out as we have already put in 5 races and the rules say that if we put in 7 races you can drop 2 for your scoring. On December 7th we will have the Candy Cane Race so please sign up.
BARBARA WATSON─ MOTHER DUCKY
Thank you to all the people who helped put the race on today. We had 5 Mother Duckies, Betty Proper, Barbara Arnold, Kathy Ahern, Joanne Simmons and Nancy Kadau. We also had Lisa Avila as a “floater“. Thanks to all that helped on the race committee.

AWARDS ─ KATHY AHERN
No awards were given out today. Kathy noted that she brought the “flipper” charms to all the meetings and all the new Saltines were lucky enough to not earn the charm!
EDUCATION ─MARIDELL WEAVER & GLORIA DAVIS
The Saltines had their last class day today and were able to cut the graduation cake.
Congratulations to the new class.
This class has sailed the Sonars, Ideals and now the prams. Today’s Mother Ducky race started with no wind (we did a towing exercise), then a little wind, and then the wind picked up to about 7 knots to finish the last race.
SOCIAL ─SUSAN HUFF
Thank you to all the Salties who put their effort into making today such a great luncheon event. A big thank you to the new chef and all of the staff who put on such a great Thanksgiving dinner. Lastly a thank you to all the vendors who showed their many talents today. The Christmas luncheon will be held on December 14th.

LINDA SALVERSON ─ THE CHRISTMAS TOY SHOP
This is one of the charities who will be represented at the Christmas luncheon. To be in this program you must be in a “needs based” program. The children do not see the toys until they receive them. The children’s guardians or parents select the toys. The new & used toys are put into a package for children up to 12 years of age. Lots of volunteers put their time into making the used toys “new”. Last year our donations supplied 2411 children from 908 families with a brighter holiday.
CHAR -NEL DOYLE ─ Christmas Boutique this year will be held on November 29th from 1pm - 7pm. This year we have 45 vendors and full. We are also looking for sponsors. We need “helpers” (2 hours) to sell raffle tickets and other tasks that are needed to keep things running smoothly.
New Calendars (Racing Schedules): See Linda Testa if you need a calendar for 2011-2012.
Paddle Boards: There will also be Stand up Power Board Fitness classes held Tuesdays and Thursdays in October and November. The cost is $15.00. Hand-outs describing these events are on the front table.
